Loss stages are user-entered; no generic connector or component losses are assumed.

Understanding effective radiated power

ERP and EIRP combine transmitter RF power, losses before the antenna, and antenna gain in the modeled direction. They are reference conventions, not additional connector power or coverage predictions.

Power at the antenna feedpoint

System loss is applied before antenna gain. This keeps transmitter output, delivered feedpoint power, and direction-dependent effective radiated power physically distinct.

Peak gain versus useful gain

Published peak gain can overstate performance toward another azimuth or elevation. Radiation patterns can contain weaker regions, side lobes, and deep nulls.
